Fitzpatrick-Moore
Family Reunion
Our Story

In 1968, while thinking of her family who gathered only for funerals, Flossie Fitzpatrick Northington of Louisville, Kentucky, decided it would be a good idea to have a family reunion. William Northington, Sr., her husband, agreed that this was a good idea, as did her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eulalean and Louis Cochran, and Correne and Tommie Leslie.
As it was not convenient to hold the reunion in Louisville at that time, they discussed it with their cousin Ophelia Moore Wilson in Cleveland, Ohio. Ophelia agreed to host the first reunion, stating that Cleveland provided a central location for most of the family members.
In July 1968, the first Fitzpatrick-Moore Family Reunion was held in Cleveland, Ohio at the home of Ophelia Moore Wilson. This reunion was warm and welcoming, and highly successful. It provided that important first step for a long progression of reunions that have become an occasion for reminiscing, fun, sharing and love.
